The Hulk's close-up in watercolor and acrylics
One of the very rare cases where Simone started his painting using watercolor. He only added acrylics in the final phase.
This close-up was created with the intention of rendering over all the animality of the character. The mouth is open, with teeth visible, the facial features are pulled in, and the vein on the neck is evident.
The light comes from below, the portion where the painting was intentionally left more sketchy, while the top of the head is almost overshadowed by the Hulk's massive might.
