Sketchbook 2023

Sketchbook 2023 collects the sketches, preparatory drawings and intermediate stages of realization of the most significant works created by Simone Bianchi during 2022 and 2023.  A special behind-the-scenes feature that shows the genesis of the comics, covers, paintings and all the other works that have sprung from Simone's pencil.

Conceived as a true sketchbook, this book is of particular interest to illustration enthusiasts, who will have access to the early stages of the study and conception of Simone's artwork, but especially to his fans and collectors: a way to fully immerse themselves in his artistic world.

In the publication you will find not only the preparatory sketches of the superhero-themed covers and paintings, but also for illustrations inspired by the world of music such as the one for the Denver date of the Smashing Pumpkins tour the tributes to the covers of Genesis, Judas Priest and Franco Battiato. 

But also all the preparatory studies for the cover of 300 or the of the saga related to the Spawn universe or private commissions not intended for publication. The cover, on the other hand, is the original image made for Simone's longest solo exhibition to date in Livorno.
